Spring Beach Engagement Session | Cape May Engagement Session | Christina and Steve
Spring Beach Engagement Session. Christina and Steve had a beautiful evening for a beach session in Cape May. It was a little “Spring” chilly and breezy, but it makes it perfect when you have a gorgeous sunset. I was excited to meet these two and hear more about their love story. They are getting married in April 2023 at one of my favorite venues, The Renault Winery.
Christina and Steve chose the Cape May area because of the lighthouse on the beach, and they both love the shore. When they got engaged, it was near a lighthouse, so they wanted to have their engagement session at a beach with a lighthouse. I love the Cape May point state park, so I suggested we go there. I also suggested we go to one of my favorite secret spots nearby.
Flowy dress plus a breezy day…Perfect
I kept a close eye on the weather because you never know what kind of weather you can have at the beginning of April. I was afraid that the day would be rained out, but the closer we got to the day, the better the weather looked. When I met them at the first location, I was excited to see the dress Christina chose! It was the perfect color for the beach and had a lot of movement. These two had never had a professional photo session, so they were a tad nervous. They settled in quickly and rocked all the poses.
We headed over to the lighthouse after taking photos on the pretty beach path and by the rock jetty. Christina and Steve had an outfit change into something casual, but I wanted to get a couple of additional photos in the more formal outfit by the lighthouse. Plus, they wanted to pop a bottle of champagne. The champagne bottle wouldn’t pop, and after trying for a bit to get the cork out, we had to scrap that idea.

The sun was setting, and the sky was glowing. We had that pretty light! After finishing up with the photos in their formal outfit, the two ran to the car to change into their casual clothes. I like when couples have different outfits because it gives them variety even at the exact location. We had about 15 minutes of good light when they got back, and we took advantage of every bit of it.
Christina and Steve’s Love story
These two lovebirds met on a dating app while Christina was in law school. Steve was studying for his CPA exam while working in NYC, and neither of them had much free time. They did find time to go out and meet each other. Their first date was at a diner, and they have been inseparable since then! They like going to the gym, visiting wineries for wine tastings, snowboarding, golfing, concerts, going to the beach, watching Netflix on the couch with their cat, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
Steve proposed to Christina on Christmas Day 2021 in Duluth, MN. They were visiting Christina’s family, and Steve thought it would be the perfect place to propose. He worked with Christina’s brother, who lived in MN while in the coast guard, to help find a place for the proposal. They chose Canal Park. Steve got down on his knee while they were walking on the beautiful boardwalk overlooking Lake Superior and the Duluth lighthouse. Christina was excited that her mom and other family members were there to witness the proposal.
Christina loves that Steve is so supportive and caring. Steve loves Christina’s kindness and that she pushes him to be a better version of himself. They are both looking forward to celebrating their love next spring with family and friends at their romantic winery venue. They are hoping it’s a day full of love and fun! Christina and Steve are anticipating most their first look and first dance as husband and wife.
