South Jersey Spring Wedding | Trump National Golfclub Philadelphia wedding | Kelly and Troy

Trump National Golfclub Wedding. Kelly and Troy said their vows on a rainy day at this beautiful venue in South Jersey. When I toured the venue with Kelly, we got so excited about the outdoor ceremony space that overlooked the Philadelphia skyline and how pretty it would be. The wedding coordinator showed us all the perfect spots for photos, and we imagined the cocktail party taking place near the pool. Well, May 7th was not the picture-perfect weather day, and all our plans got rearranged. It was one of the coldest, wettest, windiest days in years. A few days before their big day, we went into rainy weather planning and just hoped for the best.

A fun engagement session

I first met Kelly when she was a bridesmaid at her friend’s wedding three years ago. We had an enjoyable conversation about their wedding plans when we first talked, and I was delighted that they chose me to be their wedding photographer. We nailed down their engagement session details soon after. They decided to have their session in Brigantine on the beach. I still laugh when I think about their session.

We had a fun time, but some interesting things happened. The first location was pretty, but it was swarming with little bugs. It was crazy. We were able to do some poses on the dunes before we all said that we couldn’t take it anymore. A new location would be necessary. I remembered a rock jetty at the south end of the island, so we jumped in our cars and went there to finish up the session. That is where some random lady drank their champagne after we popped it for photos. Yep, she poured herself a glass and said Cheers. We were shocked and laughed at the same time. The day started at Kelly’s family home. After photographing her beautiful wedding details, we got Kelly into her dress with her mom and childhood friend. Since we couldn’t do any photos outdoors due to the weather, I had to be quick on my feet to find some fun photo spots. We used her front porch and family room and did the first looks with her bridal party and father in her living room. It all worked out perfectly, and all the moments Kelly envisioned were captured beautifully. Kelly loved her gown, and her hair and makeup by Hello Beautiful Wedding Hair and Makeup completed her glam look.

I then headed to the venue to meet Troy and his groomsmen. The guys were ok standing in the light rain so that we could get a couple of fun shots by the big fountain in front of the venue. Kelly and Troy had planned a first look so that they would have time to attend their cocktail hour and give us more time for photos. I loved Troy’s response when he saw Kelly for the first time! Thankfully, the covered entrance into the venue gave us the perfect spot for pictures to take advantage of the natural light. Their wedding party was friendly and flexible, and they were willing to make everything perfect for Kelly and Troy.

Beautiful Venue

The Trump National Golfclub has beautiful indoor spaces, which gave us many choices for photos. The ceremony and reception space are gorgeous, with all the chandeliers and oversized windows. Kelly and Troy were disappointed that they couldn’t have the ceremony outdoors, overlooking the Philly skyline. The ceremony room was so pretty. I think it made them feel good that they had this alternative space.

Kelly and Troy enjoyed the cocktail hour and visited with their guests and friends. Everyone was so excited for these two to finally be married that lots of hugs and love were shared all day long. It was a fun wedding day, and all their guests enjoyed the festivities.

Kentucky Derby Day

They were so excited to get married on the Kentucky Derby Saturday because the two of them met on the same day 8 years ago! Kelly and Troy added their style to everything they did. They both took a tequila shot at the end of the ceremony before they walked down the aisle! That was a fun way for them to end their ceremony!

Kelly loved her wedding bouquet!! The bouquet was full of pink and purple flowers, her two favorite colors, and Lilies, her favorite flower. Kelly also wanted a pop of color, so she asked for bright-colored flowers! There was also a charm on the bouquet for her little sister. She passed away in 2009, and Kelly’s parents made the charm with her pictures so she could be a part of the day. Her florist, Michael William Florist, and Greenery did an excellent job with all the florals.

South Jersey Spring Wedding

Since only a few people had seen Kelly’s wedding gown, her most anticipated moments were her bridal party and Troy seeing her for the first time in the dress. She was nervous that her wedding colors wouldn’t mesh well! But everything looked great! Kelly and Troy were in awe all day seeing their vision come to life! Kelly couldn’t wait to dance and enjoy her guests. Their DJs from Elegant Music Group Entertainment got the party going. All their guests were dancing and having fun.

After their wedding day, I ask my couples to share advice for future wedding couples. Kelly’s advice is: Be Flexible and have faith in your vendors!! I was confident in all my vendor’s work and that even though we had to change the whole wedding around 24 hours in advance, it was still great!! They did a fantastic job! Also, be present as much as possible!!

A beautiful day and a lovely couple

I had so much fun capturing this couple’s engagement session and wedding! Kelly and I had many conversations making sure all the plans were perfect. I loved seeing them enjoy their day, and I look forward to continuing to capture the next chapter of their love story.
