Rebecca and Matt

A beautiful wedding on a rainy day

Windrift Resort wedding.  Rebecca and Matt planned their wedding on the beach in front of the Windrift Resort in Avalon, NJ. Well, Mother nature did not cooperate with their plans, and it rained. All plans had to change. This was one of those times where our detailed timeline didn’t work as planned. Regardless of what the weather was doing outside their wedding was perfect.

Rebecca looked beautiful in her dress. Matt loves the color white, and Rebecca wanted to wear a big gown even though they were getting married on the beach. The dress was perfect for her.  The bridesmaids wore shades of blue and green which represented the colors of the ocean. Rebecca described her bouquet as simple greens with white roses and wanted it to look like it had washed up on the shore. Matt and his groomsmen wore tan suits. Matt loves the beach, and they wanted their day to be simple and to have all the beachy colors.

Best Moments and Advice

Rebecca couldn’t wait to see her niece and nephew all dressed up and being part of their day. They both love Matt and Rebecca could not wait for him to be officially, Uncle Matt. When Matt began to cry during his vows it made Rebecca forget about everything that didn’t go as planned.  Her advice to future brides is to remember that what is important to you isn’t important to everyone else. No one will notice what is missing or that anything is wrong.

The Windrift did their best to help with the changing plans. Since the wedding was supposed to be on the beach, they suggested that the ceremony happen on their covered deck. We could still see the ocean and could feel the ocean breeze. It was a nice alternative. The upstairs space was perfect for their small intimate dinner.  They opened the sides, and the ocean view and breeze were perfect.  The rain did let up towards the end of the day and I convinced Rebecca to go out to the beach for some final photos.  Despite the rain and changing of all the plans it was a beautiful wedding.

Congratulations and may you have a lifetime of love and laughter!
