Fall Engagement Session.  Fall sessions are some of my favorites.  I just love photographing couples in the fall and even more so when we are at one of my favorite locations, Batsto Village. Within Batsto State Park is a historic village which has so much charm and adds that rustic touch to sessions.  And to those who have read my past blogs or been on a session at Batsto know, I do have an absolute favorite spot! It is the blue door of the General store.  I do not think I have done a session without going to that spot at some point during the session!

Planning a November 2021 Wedding

Ashley and Dave are planning a November 2021 wedding.  They are looking forward to celebrating with their close family and friends.  Ashley’s son will be her ring bearer and Dave’s nieces will be the flower girls.  I am sure that they are going to be so cute! One special touch they are looking forward to is a ring warming ceremony.  During this ceremony, every guest will hold the wedding rings and give them warm wishes and blessings before Ashley and Dave wear them for the first time.  I am looking forward to witnessing this thoughtful special moment.

Excuses to spend time together

Ashley and Dave met on eHarmony.  They were both so busy with life that they did not have time to date the traditional way. Dave messaged Ashley because she was wearing a Harry Potter shirt and Ashley messaged Dave because he had read her favorite Stephen King novel.  They both knew that they might have stumbled upon something special, so they decided to meet for brunch on a Sunday morning.  When they found things to do and talk about until midnight that day, they realized that they were both correct!  After that first date, they both kept thinking of excuses that they need to spend time together.

Well, one thing led to another and Dave decided that he wanted to marry this girl.  He planned on proposing while they were out to dinner one evening with their friends.  They often forget to get pictures together when they are out so when Dave had mentioned to Ashley that they should go out to the balcony to get some pictures she was all for it.  Little did she know that Dave was going to propose to her!  After a few photos taken by Dave’s friend, Dave got down on one knee and popped the question!  Ashley said yes, of course, but the rest of the evening is a blur.  She does remember smiling so much that her cheeks hurt the next morning.

Home bodies and huge nerds

These two love Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Dave loves to read epic novels.  They describe themselves as huge nerds.  Ashley loves Dave’s sense of humor.  He is always making her laugh.  I did witness this fact to be true during their engagement session!  Ashley describes Dave as a home body.  He is fine with ordering in and watching TV.  Ashley does not mind stay-in every now and then, but she also loves to explore and try different things. These two have traveled quite a bit since they started dating.  They both love to travel and have visited England, Scotland, Mexico, Hawaii and several US destinations.  A honeymoon in Japan was their original plan but due to everything going on in the world right now they changed plans and are planning on a Hawaiian honeymoon.

South Jersey Engagement Session

There are many great choices of locations in south New Jersey for engagement sessions.  When couples chose Batsto I get excited.  I love the location and all of the different areas that make for some great spots for photos.

Ashley and Dave, it was fun getting to know you two better during your session.  I love your positive energy and sweet disposition.  And yes, Dave makes you laugh!!  I am looking forward to capturing your wedding day!
