NJ Beach Engagement Photographer | Atlantic City Surprise Proposal | Hannah and Austin
NJ beach engagement photographer. These sessions are one of my favorite kind of session. Hannah had contacted me about booking a beach session for her boyfriend and herself while they were visiting Atlantic City, NJ. They were visiting the Jersey shore from Michigan and were so excited to capture their memories at the beach.
A surprise proposal
About a week before Hannah and Austin’s session I received an email. It was from Austin who was thinking about proposing during their session and wanted to know if it would be ok. I assured him it would be fine and that actually I would love to capture the moment for them! He was a bit nervous about the whole thing but I ensured him that with a little plan and some key words he would know exactly what to do and when.
A beautiful morning
The morning of their session was perfect. When I saw them walking down the boardwalk from Caesars Casino I just knew this was going to be a great session. Their outfits were coordinated and they looked awesome. After we introduced ourselves I suggest we get started right away. I knew Austin was nervous and I wanted to make sure that he could relax a bit. The beach entrance was so pretty that we started right there. I then saw down on the beach the Atlantic City boat. These are the boats the lifeguard’s use and are an iconic fixture on the beaches in the summer time. It was in the perfect location and would make a perfect proposal spot! After some photos on and around the boat I told them that I wanted to do a special pose with them….that was Austin’s cue.
Atlantic City Surprise Proposal
Austin had flowers, the ring and a bottle of water in his backpack. After taking a big swig of water he took out the flowers and ring and got down on one knee to propose. Hannah was surprised and I loved her genuine reactions. Of course she said yes! Austin immediately relaxed and you could tell he was relived that everything went well.
We then finished up the session with more of an engagement theme. They were both so excited!
Hannah and Austin’s love story
Austin and Hannah met in the fourth grade when he transferred to her school. She remembers in middle school they were assigned partners in math, and they couldn’t stop laughing during class. In eleventh grade they realized that they had the same class schedule, so Hannah and Austin would study together. The two started dating that year and have been together for over seven years now!
In the time they’ve been together, they graduated high school and college, moved away from home, and started careers. Hannah feels so lucky to have her best friend to share everything with and she can’t wait to marry him!
A little nervous
During the photo session, Hannah could tell Austin was nervous at the beginning. She thought he was maybe worried about posing for the camera. Then, when he got down on one knee she was so surprised! Hannah did say she was hoping something would happen during their vacation. Everyone was hoping that they would tie the knot soon, especially their parents.
Hannah and Austin both feel so excited to continue their lives together and I think that shows in both of their faces in the pictures. You can truly see the love the two of them have for each other! I love capturing these moments for couples and have a sign that I have used for all of my surprise engagements. I love that they were able to use it for their photos.
Congratulations Hannah and Matt!
