A Brigantine Beach Wedding | Kristen and John | July 20, 2020

Brigantine NJ Beach Wedding.  A beautiful location in South New Jersey for a beach wedding.  Kristen and John chose the perfect day for their wedding day.  It was one of the hottest days of the summer but once the wedding started and the ocean breeze kicked in we all forgot about how hot it was.  They had the best sunset too!

Their love story

I enjoy hearing about my couples love stories.  Kristen and John’s story is so sweet. While Kristen was out for drinks with some co workers, John sent a drink over to her. Kristen went over to just thank John for the drink, but they continued talking the rest of the night! John walked Kristen to her car and while standing there took a magnet from her car. John later had texted Kristen with the picture of the magnet and asked her out for another date.  After that date, which was a night of talking and laughing they continued to see each other. John moved down to Brigantine for his work and shortly after Kristen moved down there to be with him.  They have been together for almost 6 years.

This spring they were sitting at home talking about what they were going to do while their families visited this summer. They both agreed that it would be a great time to get married. They started making plans to get married on the beach in Brigantine while their families were going to be visiting. The beach in Brigantine means a lot to them so it was fitting that it would be the place to say their I do’s.  Kristen and John both wanted it to be fun and informal.

Blue and Coral

Kristen and John’s wedding colors were blue and coral. Perfect for a beach.  Kristen wore blue star fish in her hair and carried a gorgeous bouquet of blue hydrangeas and coral roses. Keeping with their casual beach theme the guys wore tropical shirts and khaki shorts. John wore a white shirt, khaki shorts and all three of the guys had white lei’s.  Kristen’s bridesmaids wore sundresses and carried a single white hydrangea. Kristen chose a simple white sundress which was pretty and perfect for the day.  Kristen said everything was just how she imagined it would be.

Friends and Family shared their Brigantine Beach wedding

Kristen and John couldn’t wait for their friends and family to share in their day. They both loved the idea of a small intimate ceremony surrounded by their family and friends.  Another thing that Kristen wanted was for her memories to be captured in gorgeous photos.  I was delighted when I met Kristen to chat about her plans.  I just love beach weddings. We made a timeline and worked through all of her ideas so that the day of the wedding she wouldn’t have to worry about a thing.

After the wedding while we were taking photos I found out that John wrote the whole ceremony. He did such a good job.  I loved when he talked about remembering this day 20 years from now with their feet in the sand, the sunset, the gentle breeze and the sweet smell of the ocean air. So romantic!

After their ceremony the couple along with their family and friends had dinner at a near by restaurant. The couple celebrated at Cordivari’s Restaurant in Brigantine. Their cake was from Sophisticakes in Drexel Hill, PA!

Words of Advice for future brides:

Kristen passed on some advice for future brides. “Do what makes you happy! Even with everything that is going on in our world now we made this wedding special for us! Looking back we said a small wedding was exactly what we wanted and worked out perfect! Be you and do what makes YOU happy!”  I agree.  Making your day all about the two of you is what a wedding should be all about.

It was such an honor to capture this special day for Kristen and John.  May they have a lifetime of happiness and love. May they always take time to have their feet in the sand and enjoy the sweet smell of the ocean air!
