South New Jersey Backyard Wedding

Yoselin and Joshua.  May 18, 2019

South Jersey backyard wedding. When you are planning a backyard wedding, you hope for good weather!  You want no rain, no wind and a mild temparture! We watched the weather forcasts for a couple of weeks before their day. I was ready to do a rain dance or two if I needed to. But they didn’t need it because Yoselin and Josh had the best weather ever for their day.  Sun, warmth and no wind! It was a beautiful day, a beautiful ceremony and a perfect wedding day!

Maurice river lighthouse

I met Yoselin and Josh last October at the Maurice river Lighthouse for their engagement session. We had talked on the phone several times and decided to do their engagement photos right away so that they could announce their wedding date with the photos. The lighthouse is such a fun place for sessions, minus the green flies! I enjoyed getting to know them during their session and hearing about their love story.

Proposed in Disney

Josh’s proposal sounded magical. He proposed in front of Cinderella’s castle during the firework show at Disney world. A true romantic proposal. When we spoke on the phone they were excited that they had finally set their wedding date. They wanted to use their engagement photos to announce that the date had been set.  Since we were near Josh’s family’s home after the session I went to check out where they were planning to have their ceremony. When I saw the location that day I knew it was going to be a beautiful place to have a wedding.

Yoselin and Josh wanted a romantic outdoor wedding and that is exactly what they got. The grounds were decorated with romantic, fairy tale touches. The day was just perfect.  I don’t think they could have planned for anything better. It was a perfect south jersey backyard wedding.

Yoselin looked beautiful.

Her hair and makeup team did an outstanding job. I started the day by doing the photos of her dress, shoes, and rings. I love capturing all of those little details.  Her bouquet was beautiful, with white roses, ranunculus roses, and snapdragons.  Since Josh was getting ready on the other side of the house it was easy for me to go back and forth to get them both getting ready.  Josh and the guys looked awesome in their suits. I loved that Josh’s tie had a little message from Yoselin  embroidered on it.  Yoselin’s  bridesmaids wore shades of dusty pink and the flower girls dresses had lots of tulle with a heart cutout in back. Everyone looked perfect!

The ceremony was so touching.  Josh had the best reaction when he first saw his beautiful bride. He started to cry. They recited their vows, exchanged rings and sealed it with a kiss, a long kiss! Photographer’s like long kisses because we can take a lot of pictures!

Family Photos

After the ceremony everyone gathered on the balcony for family photos. We had our list of photos which came in handy. Everyone was so excited for the newlyweds.  So much love.  After the photos and some celebrating Yoselin, Josh and I headed down to the back yard to do some bridal portraits. We found some great spots to capture some gorgeous photos.  The sun was starting to set so we were able to get some of the sun glow in the last couple of portraits.  Can you say holy gnats? They were everywhere. We were laughing and swatting at the same time.  Despite the little bugs we got some gorgeous photos!

The reception was just down the road at the Mauricetown Fire Dept. The party started soon after we got there. There was so much love in the room for these two.  After their introductions and the first dance they had a little dinner.  Then the party started. The DJ, whom I had just worked with a week ago, got the dancing started right away. Yoselin couldn’t wait to start dancing so she lead the way!

Father sang a song

During the reception Yoselin’s father performed a song that he had wrote for his daughter’s wedding day. He played the guitar while Yoselin’s brother in law held the hand written words to his song. He sang to his daughter and son in law in Spanish. There was not a dry eye in the whole place. It was a special moment for them. I was so glad I was there to witness it.  After we all gathered ourselves from being so emotional the party carried on. Yoselin tossed her bouquet, they cut their cake, they danced and celebrated with their family and friends.

It was such a great day and I was so honored to be part of it.  I enjoyed getting to know these two. So glad all their dreams came true! It was a beautiful wedding.
