Blue Heron Pines Wedding | Brooke and Lane | May 10, 2019

Blue Heron Pines Wedding. I enjoyed this wedding so much. It was the perfect weather, a beautiful location, and a fun family. I had just photographed Brooke’s sister wedding in March so it was nice to see everyone again.
When we met to go over their timeline and visit the venue we were a little nervous about the weather. It was over a week away and it said rain. I think Brooke and I both were thinking positive, and had “no rain” thoughts because that is exactly what we got. They had an outdoor ceremony planned so everyone was happy!

They met at work

Brooke and Lane met at his old job. Brooke’s sister, Jessica, introduced them. They hit it off, fell in love and seven years later Lane asked Brooke to marry him. He popped the question on the beach in Miami, Florida. Of course, she said yes and the wedding planning began.
The wedding and reception took place at the Blue Heron Pines golf club in Egg Harbor City, NJ. The venue is gorgeous and has one of the best getting ready rooms that I have seen. They have a beautiful place alongside of the golf course for ceremonies and the reception area is full of natural light and exposed beams.

When I arrived at the venue I said hi to the guys and girls then started to work on the detail shots. Brooke asked if I could use her original promise ring in the photos and of course I did. Brooke and Lane love the colors blue and purple so they based their decorations and flowers off of those colors. Brooke’s flowers were just gorgeous. I could see why Brooke fell in love with them and used their colors for the wedding. I was excited that we could use the beams in the reception area to hang her dress.

When the guys and girls get ready at the same location it makes the “getting ready” photos very easy because I can go back and forth. While the girls finished with the hair and makeup team I found the guys and we got the “before the ceremony” photos done. Can I say model shots? These guys rocked the model face! I love when they embrace their inner model.

Brooke’s mom and sisters helped her get in her dress. We had fun using the lighted mirror for some photos then headed outside for some more. Brooke and her girls looked great. I love the photos of them all laughing together. We had a little extra time before the everyone had to get ready for the ceremony to start so Brooke and Lane did a first touch. Everyone was excited, mostly Brooke and Lane whom were finally ready to say their I do’s!

The sun came out just at the perfect time

We were hoping that the rain would stay away. At times it looked good and then the clouds would come in and we would get a bit nervous. But the sun came out just at the perfect time. When the ceremony was almost ready to start the sun came out from behind the clouds and shined bright just as everyone started to get seated. Yay!! It was a beautiful ceremony and everyone cheered as they sealed their vows with a kiss.

While their guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres we walked down to the first tee and started with some bridal party photos. This was a great group of family and friends. They were really excited for Brooke and Lane to finally be married! After the bridal party photos, we found a tree-covered area. It was perfect to finish up getting some photos of the newlyweds. I love this part of the day. It is hectic but when the couple is relaxed and so happy that they are finally married, it makes for some of the best photos.

The reception rocked

The reception was rocking thanks to the DJ from Star shield Entertainment. After the introductions, first dance, Brooke and her dads dance, toasts and dinner, the guests were on the dance floor dancing. Some of them were very entertaining! Once Brooke and Lane cut their cake the dessert room opened. Oh my….did all those desserts and ice cream look good. This venue does know how to put on a party. The dessert room was the perfect touch to their day.

It was a great day and a fun wedding
