Sunset LBI Engagement session | Romantic Beach session | Michelle and Matt
Sunset LBI Engagement Session. I have photographed several sessions at the Barnegat State Park on Long Beach Island. I love this location because of the lighthouse and the surrounding areas. Every time I go, I find a new sweet spot, and the lighting is always different. Michelle and Matt had the best glowy sunset.
I have said this before, but it is worth repeating; I am so lucky to have the best couples to photograph. Michelle and Matt were so easygoing and up for anything. We had to move to our second location just down the road quickly because the sun was setting fast, and these two made that transition so easy.
We took photos around the park area. The lighthouse had just been refurbished, and I was excited to be able to include it in photos again. I do enjoy leaving the park and heading to my secret spot when I am at the lighthouse because it gives us a different look, and we can walk closer to the beach and ocean. It was at this second location that we had the perfect sunset glow. We even ran into a couple of Matt’s friends fishing on the beach.
Special Location
The Barnegat Lighthouse was a perfect spot for these two. The beach had always meant so much to them because Matt grew up going to his grandparent’s shore house every summer with his family. Michelle and Matt started dating right after Hurricane Sandy, and Matt brought Michelle down the shore to see how much damage there was. Matt shared so many beautiful memories he had with his family growing up, and just seeing a glimpse into his childhood and how much he loves his family made Michelle fall head over heels for him. They have spent every summer down the shore with Matt’s family making new memories; it is their favorite place.
Their Love Story
These two are high school sweethearts. They met at the beginning of their senior year of high school and went to their senior prom together. They stayed together all through college and have been together for ten years. Matt could not wait to propose to Michelle.
They took a trip to Utah and visited The Arches, a National Park. On the morning of the proposal, they hiked up to the delicate arch before sunrise, hoping to capture a photo of the arch as the sun rose. The hike was more difficult than expected and took them over an hour. Unfortunately, they didn’t make it for the sunrise, but they did enjoy the most beautiful view during the hike. When they reached the top, they had to wait for their turn to take a photo under the arch. To Michelle’s surprise, Matthew dropped to one knee when they got under the arch and proposed. Matt surprised Michelle by having a professional photographer capture the special moment. This is always a good idea!! haha
They love hiking, trying out new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Michelle loves Matthew’s determination and loyalty to others. He would drop anything to help anyone in need. Matthew loves Michelle’s patience and compassion.
Sunset LBI Engagement
These two are getting married right on the beach at Brant Beach Yacht Club on Long Beach Island. Their two dogs, Dozer and Diesel, will be a part of the ceremony because their little family means so much, and they couldn’t imagine their special day without them. They look forward to all the special built-in moments to honor family and friends. Their goal is to have everyone feel valued. The guests are all important to them, and they wanted them all there to help celebrate their big day. Michelle and Matt also plan to have special moments for just the two of them.
I enjoyed getting to know these two better, and we had such a fun time during their engagement session. They rocked the session, and I can’t wait to capture their wedding day moments.
