September Cape May Wedding. Rodney and Cashawn had the perfect wedding on the beach in Cape May. These two chose to get married by the lighthouse at Cape May Point State Park. This is one of my favorite locations in Cape May for a beach wedding. They not only had the best location, but they also had the best weather for a September day.
I met these two a couple of summers ago when Rodney surprised Cashawn with a proposal on the beach. He wanted to know the best spot to propose, and I suggested the beach by the lighthouse at the southern tip of Cape May. We put together a plan. It was a beautiful proposal as these two are so in love with each other. I loved how natural they were with posing and had the best chemistry. September Cape May Wedding
I was so excited when this couple contacted me about photographing their wedding. They again wanted to use the beach by the lighthouse for their ceremony. I agreed that that beach was a special location and would be the perfect spot to say their vows. Once they got all the details, we talked about the photography timeline. It was just going to be the two of them, the officiant and his wife. A small, intimate wedding was ideal for them. I couldn’t wait to capture these special moments and photograph another chapter in their love story.
Romantic ceremony
I have always adored weddings, so I enjoy photographing these special moments in a couple’s life. Sometimes I get so caught up in the ceremony that I cry happy tears along with the couple and their guests. I have sung and laughed during weddings, but I have never been so mesmerized that I had to stop and watch the event before me. Rodney and Cashawn read the most romantic vows I have heard, and then they sang to each other. Be still my heart! I felt their love for each other as they sang their songs. It was indeed a magical moment.
After their ceremony, Rodney and Cashawn celebrated with champagne. They were both so happy and giddy and couldn’t stop hugging and kissing each other. Once they drank some champagne and came off their wedding high, we turned on their song, and they danced their first dance on the beach, where Rodney proposed, and said their vows to each other. Perfect!
Wedding details
Cashawn wanted her bouquet colors to reflect the ocean’s blue and the clouds’ white. She also added a touch of bling. When looking for a gown, Cashawn wanted to have a casual, beachy vibe but stay classy at the same time. Rodney wore a white linen shirt and pants, which were perfect for the beach. They both looked great.
When I asked them what the most anticipated moment of the day was, they both said “their vows.” They wrote and sang beautiful words to each other. I also asked them to share any advice for couples planning their wedding. They said to make the day all about you and not what you feel everyone else expects. It should reflect your unique individual personality.
I enjoyed getting to know these two and capturing this chapter of their lives. I wish them many years of love, laughter, and singing songs to each other.
