Victoria and Eric | Cape May Beach Wedding | Peter Shields Inn

Beach Wedding Cape May. Victoria and Eric had a beautiful September day for their wedding on the beach in Cape May, New Jersey. Their micro-wedding ended at the famous Peter Shields Inn, Cape May, where they celebrated their marriage with a special dinner. Victoria and I talked before her big day to go over her timeline. She wanted her day filled with memorable moments and to celebrate being married, finally.

The plan was to have Victoria and Eric meet me at Peter Shields before the ceremony. The inn is historical and a landmark building in Cape May, so we decided to take photos there before heading over to the beach. I arrived at the inn a bit early to take detailed pictures of the venue. It was such a beautiful, sunny, warm September day. It was perfect weather for a beach wedding. Once Victoria and Eric arrived, we started taking pictures right away. Everyone looked great, and they were all so excited.

Beautiful Ceremony

One of Victoria’s most anticipated moments of the day was the ceremony. Her father officiated the ceremony for them, making it extra special. Her father filled the ceremony with personal stories and advice. You could see and hear how much he loved his daughter and her family.  The sign their daughter carried down the aisle after her mom and dad were finally married made me smile.

After the ceremony and family photos, Victoria and Eric gave out blessing stones and asked family and friends to make a wish for their lives together. Everyone then went down to the ocean and tossed the stones into the ocean. We had planned the perfect amount of time after the ceremony for photos on the beach.  We had fun walking on the beach, taking pictures along the way. The blue and white cabanas were still up on the beach, so we took photos near them. I love posing my couples near those cabanas. Victoria and Eric danced in the sand. It was perfect.

Flowers and Dress

Victoria’s bouquet was so elegant. The bouquet was hydrangeas and blush peonies. They were all silk flowers, and her mom created it. Victoria wore a floral lace A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline. The groom wore a sand-colored suit with a white shirt, vest, and a baby blue tie. Victoria loved her dress and wouldn’t have changed it, but it was a little heavy for the beach, and the layered skirt and small train made walking across the sand difficult.

Before I left, I took photos of the two of them on the steps of the Peter Shields Inn.  I love the architecture and symmetry of the inn. The flowers were all still in bloom, adding the perfect touches to the front porch and steps.

Victoria’s advice for future brides

Don’t get too caught up in all the details and stress of planning the event that you lose enjoying the moment. Remember what the day is about and keep each other and family at the heart of it all.

Another beautiful, fun couple and another gorgeous Cape May beach wedding!! Congratulations Victoria and Eric.  Continue to love each other through the good times and the bad.
