Batsto Park Engagement Session | South Jersey Wedding Photographer | Danielle and Jonathan
Batsto Park Engagement Session. If you are looking for a rustic location Batsto State park is perfect and is one of my favorites. The historic village has so much character. I just love the old buildings, barns and fences. It is also the home to one of my favorite photo spots, the blue door. If you have read any of my other blogs about Batsto, you know that I adore this blue door.
Danielle and Jonathan had booked me for their wedding during the height of Covid so we weren’t able to meet in person. After talking, emailing and texting it was nice to finally meet them and their dog, Leo. I loved hearing about their wedding plans and their love story.
| Rainy day |
The threat of rain was looming over the day for a while. I thought mother nature would change her mind but she did not! We had to reschedule once already which made Danielle and Jonathan very excited to finally have their session. We decided bumped up the time and to go with it hoping to get done before the rain started. Well, we got in about 30 minutes! It started with a light sprinkle but turned into a downpour quickly. Danielle and Jonathan were such good sports about the rain. They didn’t let it bother them. We just rolled with it and found some great spots to finish out their session.
Their Love Story
These two met on Facebook back in 2016. After having many conversations as friends, they decided to finally get together to hang out. They both knew on that day that this could be something special. They would talk from sunrise to sunset, literally! Both of them admitted they had feelings for each other and they went on an official date. When they had their second date Jonathan asked Danielle to be his girlfriend and they have been together ever since. They have had so many good things happen and some bad times too but always come out still loving each other. Danielle said the best day was when he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
The proposal
This past February they were going to go on their first vacation together, a cruise. Danielle’s mom was driving them to the terminal when Jonathan told her to pull over so he could get some pictures of the ship. While Danielle was taking pictures Jonathan got down on one knee. Her mom was able to capture the moment on video for them. Danielle was so surprised and thru her tears, said yes!!
Danielle loves Jonathan’s sense of humor and his work ethic. Jonathan loves Danielle’s smile and that she is so caring. They love watching movies together and playing with their dog, Leo. If they could go on cruises all the time, they would!
Relaxed Wedding Day
Jonathan and Danielle are getting married October 2021. Danielle envisions her wedding day starting being pampered while getting her hair and makeup done. She loves her bridal party and can’t wait to celebrate with them. There will be lots singing and dancing while they are getting ready. Sounds like a fun morning! She is looking forward to a special first look with her dad and then walking down the aisle to marry her best friend. They are both looking forward to partying the night away with good food, drinks, family and friends.
Batsto Park Engagement Session
Even though the rain wasn’t ideal we still had a very successful engagement session. We didn’t get to visit some of the other areas in the village that I like to use but we did get to some of my favorites. I even got to meet Leo, their dog. He was a little nervous but was a very good boy.
I am looking forward to capturing the next chapter in their story!
