A Bohemian Outdoor Jersey Wedding. Arykah and CJ could not have asked for a more beautiful day to celebrate their love. They chose to have the ceremony at their friends house, in Williamstown, NJ, on one of the most popular wedding dates of 2020, October 10th.  Their friends had set up such a beautiful, dreamy ceremony space and reception area for their day.

When I met Arykah and CJ, to work on the wedding day timeline, I could see the love that the two of them had for each other.  I also couldn’t wait to see the location after they described it to me.  The ceremony space was above and beyond what I imaged. I was so excited to photograph this wedding.

Beautiful bride

Arykah was one of the most stunning brides I have photographed.  She looked so beautiful in her dress. Arykah wore a floor length ivory dress with a silver crystal sash. The straps fell around her shoulders. She wore ivory open toed, shoes with silver crystals on the heels. Her deep red necklace and matching earrings were the perfect accessory. Her cathedral length veil added a dramatic glamourous touch. CJ wore a tan suit with a white dress shirt and no tie. He had brown dress shoes, a burgundy handkerchief, and a burgundy boutonnière.

Vintage Bohemian Ceremony

Arykah and CJ’s friends put together such a beautiful, vintage and romantic ceremony space for them.  They used old doors, a burlap runner, lights, candles, tree stumps, old lace, flowers, mums, an array of chairs and eclectic vintage dinner and glassware.  I loved the vintage bohemian vibe that they created. It was just beautiful. Arykah’s wedding bouquet was filled with fall colors. It had cream colored chrysanthemums, burgundy carnations, blush colored roses, and wheat accents. There were also deep red and green leaves scattered in the bouquet. These colors came together to pair with the autumn season and the colors in the ceremony decor.

Heartfelt vows

The most anticipated moment of the day for each of them were the exchange of their vows. It was very important to Arykah and CJ, to be able to express how much they meant to each other and to promise to take care of their family before God and their loved ones.  The vows that CJ said to his bride were so heartfelt that he cried.  Arykah’s vows were elegant and so full of love.

Advice for Brides

Arykah said that not everything went as planned, but everything went perfectly. The ceremony, the decor, the reception—everything was beautiful and better than their original plans. Arykah said that “This just shows how much higher and better God’s plans are than our own.” Her advice to other brides planning their day, “I would say to enjoy the wedding planning process and the wedding. Do not let the stress of planning override the joy of the day. And make a plan to get out of the wedding planning mode the day of the wedding so you can fully enjoy your day.”
