Meet Amelia and Jona

“In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours. In all the world, there is no love for you like mine.” — Maya Angelou

NJ engagement session. Amelia and Jona chose their home, in Mullica Township, for the location of their engagement session.  When we start to plan the session finding a location that is important to the couple is at the top of the list.  The session means so much more when it takes place in a familiar setting or a spot that means something special to the couple.  That is why Amelia and Jona chose their home.  They love their home and the their horses and cows.  The yard had a nice pond in the back that Jona fishes at.  They even repurposed a bench for their session.

Met at a football game

Amelia and Jona met when they were 14 at a football game. The circumstances were a little embarrassing but they became fast friends.  Their friendship turned into a crush. But being so young and not knowing anything about love they decided that they should just stay good friends.  They did end up becoming best friends throughout the years. He was the “boy next door” and always came knocking on her door.  Amelia really didn’t mind and secretly loved it but she never let him know.  They tried dating for awhile when they were around 20 but they were both on different paths at the time and it didn’t work.  Fast forward a few years later and they ended up falling in love and finally admitting to each other that they were meant to be together.

Christmas proposal

Jona knew Amelia was his one and only and decided to pop the question in front of their Christmas tree.  Amelia had no doubt in her mind that she wanted to marry Jona so she said YES!! It was an 11 year process to get to where they are now.  They have been together ever since and can’t imagine a life without the other. These two love to watch Netflix, fish, riding quads, going to the beach, having bonfires, taking long drives with music blaring and going on adventures.  Amelia loves that Jona is so compassionate, caring and really takes care of her!  The one thing Jona loves about Amelia is that they really know each other and loves the way she gives him that extra push to do things.

I loved Amelia’s engagement ring.  Using what is near us is always fun to add to my ring shots.  Amelia found the cute little buttercups down by the pond. The weathered fence seemed like the perfect place to do the ring shots.

July Wedding

They are anticipating a stressful but amazing day. Amelia and Jona are excited to be marrying each other and start their life together.  They have planned a ceremony and reception at Martin’s Custom Catering in Landisville, NJ.

NJ Engagement Session

Starting early in the morning helps avoid taking photos when the sun gets to bright.  The early morning has such beautiful light.  I loved when it was filtering through all the trees they have on their property.  I was excited to work with them and get to know a little bit more about their love story.  One of the reasons they wanted to use their home as the location was having photos with their animals.  Taco is Amelia’s horse.  They also have 2 dogs, 2 cows and 2 other horses.  It was fun to incorporate them into their photos.

Beautiful area

Before I left we had to get some photos by their pond.  The two of them enjoy fishing there so it was important to them.  I was delighted that they refurbished their bench to have by the water’s edge just for their session.  The light was starting to get too high in the sky so we couldn’t spend a lot of time near the pond but I was able to get some great shots for them.

Engagement Sessions

These sessions are an important part of the Memories by Maria wedding experience. I feel that working together before the big day is the key to having a relaxed relationship.  Being relaxed and comfortable with each other will make your smiles natural on the wedding day.  We also get to practice posing and I get to see what works best for them. All of my wedding packages include engagement sessions, even custom packages.

Thank you

Amelia and Jona thanks for sharing your home with me.  I enjoyed photographing your session!  I am thankful that Taco and all of his friends wanted to have their photos taken that morning.   Looking forward to your wedding day.
