Beach Photography South Jersey | South Jersey Photographer 2025 Recap | Love, Laughter, and 129 Beach Sessions

Beach Photography South Jersey. Every year, I sit down to write this post and wonder, how did it all go by so fast? 2025 was full, busy, and so much fun. I photographed a total of 175 sessions and weddings this year, and somehow managed to survive it all with sandy shoes, salty hair, and a very full heart.

Out of those 175 sessions, 129 of them were on the beach — which honestly feels exactly right because I truly love being there. There’s just something about the ocean air, bare feet in the sand, and the sound of waves in the background that makes everything feel a little lighter. This year included family sessions, engagement sessions, and several surprise proposals (which will forever be one of my favorite things to photograph).

Beach Photography South Jersey | Sessions from LBI to Cape May

I traveled up to LBI a couple of times and made my way all the way down to Cape May, with Ocean City taking the top spot as my most popular location (no surprise there), followed closely by Cape May. I also spent time in Brigantine, Avalon, Ventnor, Wildwood, and Sea Isle, which basically means my car knows every beach parking lot by heart at this point.

One of my favorite parts of each year is seeing families who have been coming back to me for years. Watching kids grow, personalities change, and families evolve is truly something special. Even though we may only see each other once a year, it never feels that way — it honestly feels like catching up with friends. I also love meeting new families and couples, hearing their stories, and being trusted to capture moments that mean so much to them. That part never gets old.

Beach season this year didn’t exactly stick to the “rules.” I kicked things off with a proposal on the beach in Atlantic City in February (yes, February 🥶), and ended the year with three beach proposals in December. Apparently, love doesn’t care what month it is — and I love that.

Beach Photography Beach Sessions

The weather in 2025 definitely kept things interesting. I rarely had the perfect trifecta of warm, sunny, and no wind (that unicorn of beach sessions), but most sessions were still bright and beautiful. I had a lot of cloudy-sky days, which I personally love. Cloudy skies act like a giant softbox, filtering the light and creating the most beautiful, even tones — plus the dramatic skies are always a bonus. I even had a couple of sessions with a little fog, which added such a dreamy feel.

I also learned (again) that weather apps cannot be trusted. We had moments when it started raining out of nowhere, despite the radar showing “zero percent chance.” There were a few sessions that included spontaneous sprints back to the cars — definitely not part of the workout plan, but memorable nonetheless.

And then there was the wind. Oh, the wind. It was absolutely relentless this year. I had several very windy sessions, including days when a hurricane was brewing offshore. Hair flew, dresses billowed, and somehow we still made magic. My clients were incredible — easygoing, flexible, and trusting me to capture beautiful photos no matter what the weather decided to throw our way.

At the end of the day, that trust means everything to me. Whether it’s sunshine, clouds, wind, fog, or a surprise shower, I’m so grateful to clients who show up ready to laugh, roll with it, and enjoy the moment.

As always, I’m looking forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and spending as much time on the beach as possible — any time of the year. Because honestly, there’s no place I’d rather be.
