An intimate OCNJ wedding. Shawn and Erin had the perfect fall weather for their wedding in Ocean City, New Jersey. The details of their wedding plans changed several times, but one detail was always the same, the location. These two love Ocean City and didn’t want to get married elsewhere.
Shawn and Erin originally had wanted to get married on the beach near the island’s south end, but situations changed for Erin, and they had to move the ceremony. They choose the next best location, the pavilion on the beach near 58th street. A local singer entertained their guests and Linda Moore of Angel of Love officiants, performed a beautiful ceremony.
An Intimate OCNJ Wedding
I met Erin and her daughter near 59th street to take photos of the two of them before the ceremony. She looked beautiful, and her gown was so classic. Erin loved her bouquet; it was the first thing she had purchased for the wedding. Erin knew exactly what she wanted and ordered her bouquet with fall colors of rust, navy, cream, peach, and sage. She ordered the bouquet from Flower Dreams Boutique on Etsy. It was made and shipped from Lviv, Ukraine. Thankfully she received it just a week before Russia invaded. Erin’s mom bought a charm with her dad’s photo, which she attached to the bouquet. Her dad passed away when she was nine from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and she misses him every day.
Shawn looked great in his suit. He was so happy and couldn’t wait to see Erin walking down the aisle. The couple chose to do a lock ceremony, which was new to me. They had a sign made with two chains and locked them together with a big lock. They will hang the sign in their home as a reminder of the promises they made to each other.
Beach and Boardwalk photos
After their ceremony, we walked down to the beach for some photos. I love capturing pictures of wedding couples on the beach. They also wanted to have photos near the famous boardwalk, so we drove up to 5th street and started by the Wonderland amusement park. Shawn and Erin looked so great together, and Erin was such a gorgeous bride. We had such a fun time walking down the boardwalk stopping at different landmarks along the way. I love the photos in the Music pier and by Manco and Manco’s Pizza.
The sunset was perfect that day and gave us pretty cotton candy skies. We headed to the beach with about 10 minutes left of dreamy light. They sat in one of the lifeguard stands and walked along the shore with Erin’s daughter. Everything went as planned, and we got so many great photos.
Erin and Shawn wanted their day to be low-key and casual and advised couples planning their day to do what you want; it’s your day. I enjoyed capturing their day. I adore beach weddings, and they are even better when you have a sweet couple getting married. May they have a life of love and happiness and many days in their happy place, Ocean City.
