LBI Beach Wedding | South Jersey Wedding | Tanae and Ian
Long Beach Island Wedding. This past September, in the middle all the craziness with the pandemic, Tanae and Ian said their vows in front of close family and friends. Their venue had to change but they did not change the fact that they wanted to get married at their favorite south Jersey beach, Long Beach Island. It was a lovely day and besides the little rain that fell on them during their vows, it was a sunny, warm day.
Long Beach Island Engagement Session
Tanae and Ian chose to have their engagement session on Long beach Island. The Barnegat Lighthouse was the perfect location. I love having photo sessions at this location because the lighthouse and surrounding area is so pretty. I discovered a couple of things about this couple during their session. First thing was the love that they have for each other was so obvious! The second thing was how much my camera loved them. Click here to see their engagement session blog. The photos are some of my favorites!
A beautiful bride
Tanae was such a beautiful bride. Her dress was gorgeous and it was perfect. Tanae had always dreamed of having long veil to wear on her wedding day. The long veil she chose added the perfect final touch. Her future father in law was her hair stylist and a family friend did her makeup. Ian looked sharp in a blue suit with a white unbuttoned shirt. He wanted to have more of a relaxed feel. The two of them looked like they had just walked off a runway in NYC.
Details and First Look
When I arrived at the beach house they rented in Holgate, NJ I started to photograph her dress and accessories. I love capturing these detail photos for my bridal couples. Tanae’s bouquet was beautiful. The sunflowers were chosen to honor her mom whom has called Tanae her sunflower her whole life. The pink roses and greenery complimented the sunflowers so well. Tanae and Ian decided to do a first look. For time reasons it worked out best but they also wanted this special moment to enjoy. The location we chose was perfect for them as they had a special spot for just the two of them and it also allowed everyone to watch from the deck of the beach house.
We had a gentle breeze which I love when taking photos on the beach. It was perfect for capturing some fun shots with Tanae’s veil. The bridal party joined us after I got some pictures of just Tanae and Ian. We were able to get some great group photos on the dune with the ocean behind them. All the colors looked so great together. When couples choose to do a first look it gives the opportunity to have more time for photos and we don’t have to worry about getting the perfect photos after the ceremony.
Long Beach Island Wedding
Tanae and Ian’s most anticipated moments of the day was their first look and saying their vows. Tanae said she had butterflies in her stomach as she walked to Ian during the first look. They were both so glad that they chose to have that special moment together. Tanae and Ian said they didn’t feel everyone looking at them while they were saying their vows. They felt it was just the two of them standing there on the beach.
During their ceremony a special moment happened. We had a beautiful sunny day but just before the ceremony was to start a dark cloud covered the sun. It wasn’t supposed to rain but when they started to say their vows, we had a little rain! We all believe it was a sign from heaven that their loved one was there. Soon after the ceremony ended the cloud drifted away and we had a beautiful evening and sunset.
Dinner and celebration
The pandemic had changed many of their plans but the two of them still wanted to enjoy celebrating with the love of their family and friends. Following the ceremony everyone gathered at the beach house. After Tanae and Ian had a little food they did their first dance on the deck. Since everyone couldn’t see them, they gathered on the dunes behind the house to watch them dance. Their wedding cake was so pretty and tasted even better. Tanae’s family drove 3 hours to pick up that cake! Everyone had a fun time which was exactly what they wanted.
Tanae’s advice to future brides is to take your time planning. Everything comes together in the end and your day will be just perfect. Ian and Tanae appreciated all of their family and friends that helped make their day magical.
Thank you!
Tanae and Ian, you were such a fun couple. I knew from the first moment I met you that the two of you were meant to be. I loved being part of your gorgeous day. May you have lots of love, laughter and happiness!
